Budapest Airport (BUD) Car Rental

AN ADDITIONAL DRIVERS FEE OF EUR 5.51 PER DAY WITH A MAXIMUM OF EUR 76.65 PER RENTAL PLUS VAT AND AIRPORT SURCHARGE WHERE APPLICABLE APPLIES. FULL RENTAL CONDITIONS APPLY FOR ALL ADDITIONAL DRIVERS.

There is a drop box located at the rental counter. Vehicles are to be parked in the rental car return lot. The first 12 spots on the right side are dedicated to Megadrive/National. Customer can leave a copy of the rental agreement with the key in the drop box. Customer has to leave his or her contact information. For after hours service a fee of EUR 37,50 per rental excluding VAT and airport surcharge ,where applicable, will be charged.  In the case of a no show outside operating hours the amount of EUR 37,50 per rental excluding VAT will still be charged. A prior written cancellation notice forwarded during operating hours is required to prevent this fee from being charged. If no cancellation notification is provided, the amount will be invoiced to the renter. The customer is fully expected and responsible for following the instructions given at the time of pickup. When returning the rental vehicle outside of the rental office hours the rental vehicle must be left in the designated area and the keys placed in the drop box. Please ensure the keys fall completely into the drop box. Vehicles will be checked in by National employees during business hours. Until the rental vehicle is inspected and checked in, the renter is fully liable for the vehicle and responsible for all possible costs.

THE MINIMUM AGE FOR CAR GROUPS, MINI-- MCMR, ECONOMY- ECMR, ECAN, ECAR, EWAR, COMPACT- CCMR, CDMR, CCAR, CDAR, CWMR, CKMN, AND INTERMEDIATE- IDMR, IFAR, IWMR, IDAR, IVMR, AND STANDARD- SDAR, SDMR, SWMR, SFAR, SVMR IS 19 YEARS OF AGE. CAR GROUPS PREMIUM OR HIGHER ARE ONLY AVAILABLE FOR RENTERS AGED 25 YEARS OLD AND ABOVE. ON COMPLETION OF THE RESERVATION, IT IS RECOMMENDED TO CAREFULLY CHECK THE LOCAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS. AN ADDITIONAL YOUNG DRIVERS FEE OF EUR 10.00 PER DAY PLUS AN ADDITIONAL VAT AND AIRPORT SURCHARGE WHERE APPLICABLE FOR ALL DRIVERS AGED 19-24 APPLIES. THERE IS NO MAXIMUM AGE FEE OR RULE.

Cross border travel - Customer must advise the car will be driven out of country of rental at the beginning of the rental. The use of a ferry boat is not allowed. If cars may be taken into the following countries - Germany, Austria, Hungary, Slovakia, Italy, Croatia,Slovenia,Switzerland,Liechenstein,France,Spain,Portugal,Andorra,Monaco, Luxembourg, Belgium, Netherlands, Denmark, United Kingdom, Ireland and Czech Republic.
The rental vehicle is prohibited from being taken into Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Estonia, Macedonia, Romania, Serbia, Montenegro, Russian Federation, Latvia, Lithuania, Belarus, Ukraine, Moldova, Turkey, Poland and Albania.
For all permitted countries an additional surcharge of 10.00 EUR per day plus VAT and airport surcharge, where applicable, with a maximum of EUR 100.00 per rental plus VAT and airport surcharge, where applicable, will apply and will have to be paid by the renter at the time of pick up.
Prior consent from Megadrive-National is essential before cross border travel can be agreed. If customer travels abroad without informing Megadrive-National accordingly, the full responsibility for any financial obligations – accident, breakdown etc., will lie with the renter.

CDW Collision Damage Waiver is included in rates with an excess amount of EUR 540.00 per incident or damage for car classes from Mini through Compact. For car classes Intermediate and higher an excess amount of EUR 780.00 per incident or damage applies. On exclusive products the purchase of CDW is highly recommended with a daily rate depending on car group. The excess ranges from EUR 540.00 to EUR 780.00 depending on car group.

In the event of an accident, any damage or theft, the driver MUST obtain the relevant police report.
If no police report is provided, the driver will be liable for the total cost of the damages up to and including the total cost of the vehicle.

A handling fee of 48.00 EUR inclusive of VAT will apply if the customer receives any type of ticket.

Megadrive - National is not liable for lost, forgotten items left in the rental vehicle.

A domestic one-way charge does not apply for Hungary. International one-way- from Megadrive-National Hungary to any Megadrive-National branch in Austria and Slovakia an international one-way fee of EUR 250 per rental plus VAT and airport surcharge applies. The minimum rental period is 3 days. Megadrive-National strictly prohibits one-way rentals into any other country outside the territory of Hungary, Slovakia or Austria. If a customer should drop the rental vehicle at any other National location outside of these territories he or she will be made liable for all rental vehicle recovery costs, idle days, vehicle recovery, etc.

All vehicles are delivered with a full tank of petrol and must be returned in the same condition. If the vehicle is returned with less than a full tank, refueling charges plus an additional 15.00 EUR service charge excl VAT and airport surcharge, where applicable will apply. Megadrive National also offers a fuel service option, prepaid fuel tank full to empty, for an additional local charge depending on the car group.

RATES INCLUDE A MAXIMUM OF 4000 KM. ANY ADDITIONAL KM WILL BE CHARGED SEPARATELY DEPENDING ON CAR GROUP.

Charges for deliveries and collections outside city limits depend on distance and are available at location. Megadrive-National will charge EUR 0.77 per km. Confirmation is required.

ALL MAJOR CREDIT CARDS(AMERICAN EXPRESS/VISA/MASTERCARD ) IN THE NAME OF THE RENTER AND PRESENT AT THE TIME OF PICKUP ARE ACCEPTED. CURRENCY LOSS SHALL ALWAYS BE BORNE BY THE CUSTOMER. TOUR VOUCHERS IN PRINTED PAPER FORM ARE ACCEPTED. NO DIGITAL VOUCHER IS ACCEPTED. DEBIT CARDS/BANKCARDS AND CASH PAYMENTS ARE NOT ACCEPTED. AT THE BEGINNING OF THE RENTAL THE CUSTOMER'S CREDIT CARD WILL BE CHARGED FOR THE EXCESS PLUS THE ADDITIONAL EXTRAS PURCHASED AT THE TIME OF PICK UP AT A MINIMUM OF EUR 700.

ALL DRIVERS (INCLUDING ADDITIONAL DRIVERS) MUST HAVE HELD THEIR DRIVER'S LICENSE FOR A MINIMUM PERIOD OF 1 YEAR. A PASSPORT WILL BE REQUIRED FOR IDENTIFICATION PURPOSES. IN SPECIFIC CASES THE RENTAL AGENT MAY ASK FOR A PROOF OF RESIDENCE OR A FLIGHT TICKET. AN INTERNATIONAL DRIVER'S LICENSE IS ONLY REQUIRED FOR DRIVERS WHOSE LICENSE IS WRITTEN IN NON-LATIN CHARACTERS. IF THE RENTAL AGENT IS UNCERTAIN ABOUT RENTER'S HEALTH CONDITIONS (I.E. UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF DRUGS OR ALCOHOL) A RENTAL MAY BE REFUSED.
